Strutting My Eagle Butt

Gosh, talk about some interesting days! Wednesday, the students at Carson-Newman started classes (that includes me). Gosh, I am so nervous! I am so scared that I have got too many classes. I pray that I will do great and I will be successful. I'm really scared about my into to Politics. It deals a lot of with philosophy and sutff. I've heard a lot of people say that this class is like the best on campus. So, I'm hoping. I'm also taking Old Testament as apart of my general ed requirement. That really scares me because I really don't know as much as I should, and I've heard that the class is really hard. Oh well, God will be there all the way, and that is what I keep in my mind to keep me going. I've also been asking God for comfort. Talk about being outside my "comfort zone." I really miss just being able to go up to someone and embracing and feeling all better, but I can't do that here. I really don't think these guys on my floor wants a hug. Oh well, it will take a while to get comfortable. The campus can really get dead, too. Gosh, you go walking around and sometimes there is no one around at all. Yesterday, CN continued the "Eagle Strut" tradition. This is were the freshmen in the residence halls put on a little show in front of the students and faculty at a school picnic. The guys in my dorm are really tough about this stuff. The Alumni dorm is really used to winning, and they didn't want to start losing this year. I am just now allowed to talk about it to people outside Alumni. We've been practicing everynight since I got down here until midnight. Talk about long nights! You should have seen our show! One guy dressed up as Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice. Then, there were two groups. One was dressed up as Riverdancers, and the other group dressed as pink ballerinas. (I was a Riverdancer) Mickey then directed each group to do a dance choreographed to music. Then after each group did their dance, we all came together under Mickey's order and did a unified dance. Talk about a lot of work! All kinds of dance steps to learn. Maybe I can show everyone my dance when I come home for Labor Day. Oh yeah, our room has been stinking, too. I don't know. We don't understand it. We noticed it on move-in day in the closet, but it wasn't that bad. Well, it has got awful! We got some deorder stuff, but it just seems to mix with the smell. We told our RA, but he really don't know what it could be. Right now, it don't smell that good. Hopefully, it will stay away. Oh yeah, I have started my work-study program. I am gonna be working in International Studies. Hopefully, it will be fun. My supervisor, Mrs. Shoemaker, said you get to meet a lot of people. She said they like take them to Wal-Mart, to the airport, and stuff. Aught to be interesting. She has like retired, and she wants me to like work more so that they have someone to do her job when she can't while they are waiting for a replacement. Should be fun! Well, see ya later. Football game tonight. Let's go Eagles!
