Carson-Newman Field Day

Yesterday was very interesting to say the least. As apart of "Welcome Week" events, the dorms competed in the annual "Fieldfest," a college take on the elementary school field day. I had lots of fun. The freshmen in each dorm competed against each other during a mini relay and a big relay. Everyone in my dorm dress up every year to go to it. This year, we decided to dress up in togas. That was interesting! We woke up and discovered it was raining. We thought that the girls would not show up and the guys in the other dorm, Heritage, wouldn't show up. We were wrong! Their teams were huge except Heritage which had like 5 compete. My dorm, Alumni, won the mini relay. We did a lifesaver toss, hula hoop chain, and leap frog to gain our victory. By the time we had finished leapfrog, everyone was way behind us. The main relay was even more interesting. The stuff we did was so disgusting. All 8 events took place continuously. There weren't certain times for the events. Once one person finished an event, the next person did their event. Whoever finished first, won. There was the basic baseball bat spin and greased watermelon, but it got much worse than that. We did a human hot dog. We had to carry a person down a field, lay them down, and cover them in mayo, mustard, relish, and ketchup. Talk about gross! We had a word find event where you had to run down the field and use your mouth to find a letter in a pan of baked beans. One person had to go get one letter then we had to arrange the letters into a word. I was covered in baked beans! It was sick! I definitely lost my hunger.
