Thumbs Down for College Bookstores

Looking for books? If you are a new college student, you might not have been introduced to the campus monopoly that they call the "bookstore." I'm sure many know about the ridiculous prices offered by these establishments; some might even be familiar with the petty amounts they give to buy back books. One personal example, I paid $140 for a book that I used for one semester and for only one class; when I took the book back, they only offered me 30-some dollars for the basically new book. I wanted to be like a contestant on that show "Deal or No Deal" and slam down a box over a giant, red button, wave my arms, and scream "NO DEAL!" I didn't do that, but I was fed up. I wasn't about to let them take advantage of me again! So I put up my book for sale on the Internet, specifically at Half.com, along with some other old books that the bookstore wouldn't take back. I also vowed to not go back to that place except to buy CN t-shirts and such. This has been one of my greatest ideas. I have recently sold five books at Half.com, and I received much more than the bookstore offered me. I also saved around $200 this summer from books for my two classes. I say that is quite amazing! It is very easy to buy books online; you just need to be sure to get an ISBN number from the bookstore. Don't let the establishment laugh in your face anymore with their monopoly over poor, college students; rebel and save money! I would recommend half.com, or you can go to isbndb.com to search for books and find many various online retailers.
