News Briefs


The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah seems to be working so far despite a few little run-ins here and there. It is about time that this conflict saw an end. It is hard to believe, though, that the UN actually did something productive; that's certainly a nice change of pace. (story here)

NASA has lost 700 boxes of original tapes that are from the 1969 moon landing. This loss includes Neil Armstrong's famous "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" speech. NASA says that they are not worried since all the data is also in some other format; these other formats, though, are of a lower quality. It is so sad that they have lost such an integral piece of American history. (story here)

Blogger has made some major updates. They have finally released features that users have been wanting for years. This is a slow process, and it will take some time to switch over the old blogs (such as mine). I look forward to the switch, though. (more here and here)
