North Korea Tests 7 Missiles

North Korea has tested seven missiles during July 4th and early this morning. The Taepodong-2 long-range missile (subject of recent international furor) failed during its test. This now puts into doubt North Korea's technological ability. This also further isolates the country from the world community. Countries all over the globe have been yelling at them urging to have no tests; of course, North Korea didn't listen and went ahead with their tests. Since they had failure and isolated themselves at the same time, the country might be more willing for negotiations. This might be a great chance for six-party talks to get back under way since they were cancelled by NK a few years ago. Japan has called an emergency session of the UN's Security Council, and there is talk of economic sanctions against the country. The coming developments could certainly be interesting. (more here)
