This Could Turn Ugly

The US and Japan announced today that they will jointly install Patriot interceptor missiles in Japan. This comes amid concerns that North Korea is preparing to test fire long-range ballistic missiles. I think we have ignored North Korea for too long. We knew that they were a great threat to our security long ago, but we are only now taking steps to protect ourselves. I guess it would be stupid to escalate things too far with military build-up when it is not needed. I see that as the reason of holding back on installing these missiles. I think, though, that the North Koreans are a tad jealous of the world attention that Iran has received in the last few weeks. Their threats are a way of getting that attention back onto their small country. (more here)
