I like the new direction that President Bush seems to be taking. He is being more open and communicating directly with the American people. I couldn't believe the words that he said during the joint press conference with Tony Blair last week. He admitted to not fully expecting the force of the insurgents in Iraq; he also admitted to his realization that some words he used in the past was not appropriate. He was referring to telling America's enemies to "bring it on" and that he wanted Osama bin Laden "dead or alive." His "tough talk" has certainly been misunderstood in the rest of the world, but I think it is simply amazing that Bush (of all people) is admitting his mistakes. It would have been great if he had realized this earlier, but it seems at least the next two years will be different. Hopefully it will be for the better. (story here)
