White House Milkshake

Bush certainly is starting his shake-up of the White House. Scott McClellan, press secretary, appeared on the South Lawn with President Bush to announce his resignation. I wonder who the new secretary will be; I think they could certainly use a new, fresh face. There is also talk that Karl Rove will no longer have oversight of policy development, which I think should have happened long ago. Bush should have distanced himself from Rove once that scandal started. Rob Portman, current U.S. trade representative, will now serve as the director of the Office of Management and Budget. All of this comes amid Andrew Card's resignation as Chief of Staff; the ball has been rolling ever since. I think this should have happened a while ago when Bush's approval ratings started to slip; the White House certainly isn't doing a good job pleasing the American people right now. Maybe a fresh staff could help turn that around. (stories here)
