Today marks the first of 40 days of Lent, the annual tradition of not eating stuff. This is my fourth year observing the tradition, and I believe this might be my most ambitious. I am giving up on all sweet/sugary items, snack foods, and any meals after 11pm. You might think that meals after 11 would be no big deal, but you would be wrong. Sometimes we like to go out and get something at a fast food joint at like 1 in the morning, and we also sometimes make some good food in the fondue pot late at night. I hope that I will be able to withstand temptation. We'll have to just wait and see. Fellow blogger Adam Feldman is also observing this year's lent; here is what he had to say. The Tennessean also has a write-up on the observance.
As of now, I am doing fine. I am, however, locked out of my room because it seems the lock does not want to work for any key (mine, the spare, or the master). This might be a sign from God that he doesn't want us in the dorm anymore because we just got word today that we were accepted to live in App Commons (the campus apartments) next semester.
