Governor Bredesen announced last night his plans for "Cover Tennessee," a program to help Tennesseans receive health insurance. They hope to cover as many as 185,000 citizens at a cost of $190 million. This plan also includes programs to cover children, to cover prescriptions, and to combat obesity. Cover TN will be offered through employers, and eligible workers will have to pay around $50 for premiums. I'm glad that Bredesen is doing something; we certainly have a problem that needs to be resolved. It seems like a pretty good plan. I'm not sure how much it will cover. It seems to me that estimated required funds are quite low considering health-care costs; I'm afraid that people will end up getting bare-bones coverage. I guess, though, that something is better than nothing. Funny though that he announces his grand plan in an election year...mighty convenient. (story here)

Korea - Land of the Morning Calm. That is where I am currently living as an "Englishee teacher." As I go about my life, I'm sure that I will encounter a few interesting things, and I might try to be a little adventurous. Stop by often for some non-stop Korean taekwondo-style action. Yep, very convenient. He's trying to cover his tracks by saying he's offering something. It's about time we got a decent governor
