In 2004 some of my friends and I discovered the Isle of Heron on Cherokee Lake. Since then, we have bought boats and kayaks and made many adventures to the island. One such excursion included this one where we officially conquered the island. Does the image look familiar? Well, it should; we were trying to reenact the famous hoisting of the American flag on Iwo Jima. That was also a whirlwind day that included many fun activities, such as our adventure to the Isle of Heron, Sunday School class picnic in Morristown, ice cream at the Creamery, and our midnight swim in the lake.
