TAR8 Finale, Finally

I finally got to watch the finale of Amazing Race 8 (Family Edition) last night. I had my mom record it on Tuesday night since I didn't have much time to watch with my big Accounting final the next day. I guess I have to say congratulations to the Linz family for their million-dollar victory (although, I was so wanting the underdog and much-hated Weaver family surge their way to the top). The Linz family were ok; they were not my favorite of course, but the three hormone-raging guys on that team sort of drew me away from them. I cannot conclude this season without saying that I have been quite disappointed with the producers of the Race. First of all, though, I am disappointed somewhat with myself. Some fool on Yahoo Groups sent out a spoiler with a warning message line; I knew from the get-go that the Linz family would win in Niagara Falls. Of course I didn't know if the information was correct, but these type of things usually turn out to be quite true. I especially felt that this spoiler was correct when the other rumors (a shortened Race, a lot of time in America, a short trip to Central America, etc) turned out to be true. I will be much more careful in the future about reading message boards! I am also quite disappointed in the family format of this season's Race. I kept an open mind from the beginning, but I think the producers really failed with this one. This Race was certainly not as exciting as previous races; I am also extremely disappointed that the Race barely left America. This season was just not very "Amazing." CBS did advertise for season 9 (due in February), and I can't wait for it to begin!
