This is just what we need in our state: more political scandal to dampen our trust and confidence in our government! Ophelia Ford's slim victory in Memphis for state Senate seems to be plagued with dead voters and irregularities (story here). Two dead people have already been found to have voted during the election. Her opponent, Terry Roland, claims that he knows of 68 votes that should not have been counted; election officials are also admitting that they have found 6 votes that were improper (maybe even 3 more). Since this was only a 13 vote victory there needs to be at least a recount of the votes or even a new election. The people need to have confidence in their lawmakers, and such confidence cannot be gained by election fraud! Maybe Ophelia was learning tools of the trade from her much scandal-plagued brother John Ford.
