Geisha

I am happy to report that I have finally finished reading Memoirs of a Geisha. If you are looking for an "interesting" read, I would certainly recommend this book. Before I started, I didn't really have much of an idea what geisha are, but I definitely got an inside look into their way of life. It all started when I saw the previews for the upcoming movie, and I thought that it certainly looked interesting. I decided to read the book before watching the film. Now, I am really excited about the movie, and I cannot wait until it is released. I must admit that some parts of the book was a bit risque, but I guess most cultures are not hunky-dory. It will certainly be interesting to see how the producers handled making the book into a movie; I hope that I do not walk away from the theatre disappointed. If you are interested in learning about 1930s-1940s Asian culture (especially that of geisha), you have to read this book; it is certainly a heart-wrenching book that is hard to put down.
