Thank You, Mr. President


Thank you, President Bush! I certainly do appreciate you taking responsibility for the poor federal response to Hurricane Katrina. You are the first and only leader to do so, and I believe that is highly commendable. Maybe Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco will follow suit, but I don't see that as likely. Thank you, again!

  1. Words without action are just lips flapping in the wind. If he was a CEO of a private company, a $200+ billion blunder would be enough to get him ejected in a hurry. How's he going to "take responsibility"? Is he going to resign? More likely GWB's version of taking responsibility is sacrificing some scapegoats and calling it a victory.

  2. I don't believe this is just "lips flapping in the wind." Bush took responsibility for the FEDERAL response...he admitted that he is the one to blame for the poor response from the US government (I don't call that a "scapegoat"). This is certainly more than other politicans have done in admitting their faults.
