Construction is now underway for Dollywood's addition for the 2006 season, and the new ride looks very attractive. The new ride for 06 will be called Timber Tower and will be placed in Thunderhead Gap, the new area built for the awesome Thunderhead roller coaster in 04. The new ride will be build on a huge pond, will last 2.5 minutes, and will feature additional lumber themed scenery. At the $6.5 million price tag, it will cost almost as much as the $7 million Thunderhead and more than the $5 million renovation to the Country Fair area of the park. The ride will be able to accommodate 565 riders per hour so, hopefully, lines won't be too long. When reading the description Dollywood gave of the new ride, I got a little confused so I did a little research. Thrill ride enthusiasts say in forums that the ride will be similar to the HUSS Topple Tower, click here for description and video. Looks like another great addition for the DW!

AAAWWWWW!!!!!! THE SCARY FALLING LOG!!!!! BTW, Marla & other CN people, Dollywood trip in the fall!!
ReplyDeleteOh Man Shawn,
ReplyDeleteI just got back from Dollywood yesterday, and it (as always) was wonderful. My brother and I went around and rode pretty much everything except the County Fair rides. In fact, the lines were so short that we rode The Slidewinder 2x, and Thunderhead 3x. Hooray.
As for your idea concerning a Dollywood trip in the fall with C-N friends, I think that sounds like a lot of fun.
Woot woot, Brittany is on board!! Any other takers?
