The rumors have now been verified; it has been officially announced that The Amazing Race Season 1 will be released on DVD. The release date is set for September 27th. The DVD will be on four discs and will feature audio commentary, interviews with the host and producers, and an addition of 90 minutes of footage not shown on TV. The price will retail at $39.95. Although I didn't start watching TAR until the 5th season, I am still very excited that season 1 will be coming out. I get to see for the first time the origins of this great show. That is the reason that I am not watching the season replayed on GSN so that it won't ruin my DVD experience.
