Celebration Turns to Horror

This is what the scene was in London just a day earlier after the city learned that they were awarded the 2012 Olympic Games:

This is what London looked like a day later:

The British people were on top of the world; they had just overcome Paris, the highly expected front runner, in the race to host the Olympic games. Life was good for the Brits. This is until they woke up and made their way to work this morning. They were brutally attacked for sense-less reasons. Why would someone do such a thing? That is the biggest problem about terrorists: no one can clearly understand why they do it. Why would someone kill innocent people that have never done anything to deserve such a horrible death? It is so hard to come to realization that people would do such things. We need to unite against these terrorists and show them that we will not let them overcome our resolve; we need to unite and stay that way. After September 11th, this country came together like never before but that didn't last long. We were soon back to our bickering and backstabbing. I hope that we get the message that our world has changed and that we need to respond with resolve to rid the world of terrorism.
