New York has once again fought the odds and is back in the race for the 2012 Olympic games! NYC officials held a press conference Sunday that included details of their new plan for the proposed bids. The Mets will be building a new stadium near Shea due to open for the 2009 baseball season. Infrastructure improvements around the new stadium will be funded by both the city and state. The stadium will then be converted into a 80,000-seat Olympic stadium if the city is chosen to host the games. The original transportation plan has to make no changes, and the stadium will only be 16 minutes from the Olympic Village. The stadium is suppose to be built in what officials are calling the Olympic Park Cluster
