Happy Weblogger's Day!

This last year we have witnessed the greatest development of blogs. They have become very powerful and have become a part of the foundation of how we operate as humans. Blogs are making tradition change (for the good or the bad, that's debatable). America's and the world's traditional way of receiving news and information is through media outlets such as newspapers and television news broadcasts. Now that society is becoming more wired and connected to the Internet, people are changing the way they get their news fix. People are increasingly turning to the Internet to get the information they need and to get it quickly. Now blogs pop into the picture. With blogs, you can get information on every topic imaginable. You can get to know your friends better than ever before. You can read other people's comments on your favorite tv show (Amazing Race, woot woot!). You can find out all the details on today's headlines. That is the role of blogs: more information. It is unbelievable the amount of new information that you can receive from blogs. Blogs are usually the first to come out with breaking news. Who was it that first questioned the allegations of CBS' report on President Bush's National Guard service? Blogs. Who first came out with news that Tennessee lawmakers were being arrested in Nashville? Blogs. Not only can you get the news first, but you can get a different side of the story. Most blogs that focus on news events will give you more information than news outlets will. You get the whole story, not just the 3-minute report from the broadcaster. You have to be careful, though. Bloggers can be known to be very biased, even worse than the media is. You have to make sure your source is reliable and reports the facts. With such power, blogs hold the possibility to become a major force in today's society. I feel that the blog community will continue to grow and become very powerful. Blogs will bring us together as humans and improve communication beyond our wildest dreams! Stay tuned; it should get pretty interesting!
