Is it just me or do you find it funny that GM announces "GM Employee Discount" promotion at about the same time that they announce they will be firing 25,000 employees by 2008? Kind of a slap in the face of GM workers...not only are they kicking them out the door but they are also giving their employee discount to everyone.

GM Employee Discount
Is it just me or do you find it funny that GM announces "GM Employee Discount" promotion at about the same time that they announce they will be firing 25,000 employees by 2008? Kind of a slap in the face of GM workers...not only are they kicking them out the door but they are also giving their employee discount to everyone.

Yeah, I find it interesting. But not as interesting as the fact that I was getting roughly the same price on the vehicle prior to the annoucement of the GM employee discount program. Now the dealers are clamming up on their end. They claim GM will not allow them to sell it for less. Has anyone received a price lower than what was quoted as the employee price? I sent an email to GM & they said the dealer is independent and they (GM) have little control over what the dealer sells the car for. The dealer sets the final retail price. Sounds like more Bull S--- from lying scum car dealers
