You know every time that I ponder on this subject it is so hard to comprehend how much Jesus truly loves us. Can you believe that someone would die just so that a world of sin would have a chance for salvation? It baffles me all the time. He loves us so much! As Christians, we are suppose to go out into the world and show that love to others so that the lost can see what Jesus truly is and what He has to offer. I try my best to show this love to others, but I must admit that I am definitely not perfect. I always struggle trying to always be a light for God. I can definitely improve in life's journey! I have been trying to look at my life lately and seeing how I display Jesus' love around others. I started doing this since I recently noticed that a friend of my mine that professes to be a strong Christian frequently uses strong and harsh language to describe people that he hardly knows. He loosely uses words like "slut" and "faggot" to talk about people. This tears my heart apart! I can't stand for someone that calls themself a Christian to talk about people like that! Is this displaying God's love? Is this the way that Jesus wanted His children to act? I really don't believe so. Maybe I am overreacting, but I truly believe that Jesus wants to keep from namecalling like this. What kind of message does this give to non-believers? What difference is demonstrated between the lost and Christans that judge people like this? None. It just reiterates the popular belief that Christians are a "bunch of hypocrites." It scares to think that I am possibly supporting behavior that pushes people, not only the lost but also believers, further away from our Lord and Savior. I just pray that I don't prevent someone from making a connection with God. I will definitely continue to look at my life and try hard to prevent from acting like this. Please help me to pray this for my life, my friend's, and all Christians. I ask that we all do this. We need to display His love; we need to show the world that we aren't hypocrites.
