Holiday Weekend

(Pictured is Holly, my brother, and myself playing the Santa/reindeer game at the Young Adult Sunday School Class Progressive Dinner)
I had a very nice holiday weekend. On Friday, I finally got to start decorating my room for the Christmas season. Every year, I usually go all out decorating my room. I use lots of decorations and Christmas lights. My room is always a sigh to see during the holiday season. I always have over 2000 Christmas lights strung up (for those wondering, I always get the question how I sleep at night...I turn them off before I go to sleep). I usually put the lights and stuff up the weekend before Thanksgiving. This year, I was at college and didn't have a chance to come home to decorate. I was so disappointed! After years of magnificent decorations, I had to give it up. Well, when I got home from college, I was determined to get up a big chuck of the decorations. I got my Christmas tree with 800 lights and my Christmas village up last Friday. I usually have my mom put up the village, but I decided to do it myself this year, and I must say that I did a better job than I thought I would. Friday night, Amy & Holly came over to have another "unoffical youth Christmas lock-in" at my house. We started out the evening by having a Christmas lighting ceremony (yes, I am a dork). We had candles and sang Christmas songs. I then played the Christmas lighting ceremoney scene in "Christmas Vacation," and I then reenacted Clark G by connecting my extention cords. I had better luck than Clark because my lights worked, and I must say it was beautiful. The three of us went over to my neighbor's house at 11:30pm and sang Christmas carols to them while they were sleeping. We then came back over to my house and sang carols for my parents. We ate cold pizza, drank hot apple cider, watched movies, and had a great time being with one another. On Saturday night, my Sunday School class had a Christmas progress dinner. We had salad at one house, the main course at my house, and dessert at another. At the last house, we also played some games. We all had to sniff reindeer poop and guess what kind of candy bar it was. I got all of them right and won a nice little gift. We then had a Chinese auction thing where you can get your present stolen. That was so much fun! I got this mini air compressor, which will probably sit in the back of my car for a very long time. We then played the Santa/reindeer game. There is two teams. One person in a team is the Santa and the others are reindeer. The reindeer have to dress Santa in a suit and have to make antlers out of the material provided. I got to be a reindeer along with Holly while my brother was a Santa (pictured above). We had so much fun! Such a nice holiday weekend! I also got to go back to my old church on Sunday and got to hear my old Pastor preach and got to see people that I missed so much! I love the holidays!
