"Give Me the Words"

My good friend, Amy, let me publish one of her poems on my blog. I hope she keeps on writing! Here it is:

"Give Me the Words"

His palms were sweaty

And his heart was racing.

He knew he should speak

But his mind was pacing.

What could he say

To tell of the great love

That God Almighty

Sends down from above?

He wanted to share it

For his friends all to see

That God sent His Son

To die for you and me.

Under his breath

He prayed a quick prayer

Saying "God give me the words

You want me to share."

Almost immediately

It was like God said,

"Just start to talk

And I'll put the words in your head."

He was still kinda of nervous

But he trusted in God.

He obeyed his commandment

And started with a nod.

He greeted his friends

And said, "I've got something to share"

When they looked at him, he said,

"Did you know that God cares?"

"No matter what you've done,

No matter where you've been,

God's always there

Wanting to forgive your sin."

"All you must do

Is invite Him into your heart.

As soon as you do,

He'll give you a new start."

All of a sudden

His fear was gone.

He knew in his heart

God's love was being shown.

Didn't Amy just hit it right with this poem! If you would like to contribute to the blog, don't hesitate. Just email what you would like posted at my email address: smt2004@hotmail.com. If you use this poem, please give Amy her credit. She worked hard on this.
