Roe Defeats Davis

According to the Associated Press and the Bristol Herald Courier, Phil Roe has defeated Congressman David Davis in the Tennessee 1st District Republican Primary. Roe received 25,918 votes (50.4%); Davis received 25,458 votes (49.6%). As you can see, it was a very tight race with Roe narrowly coming out top. This is the first time since 1966 that an incumbent Tennessee congressman has been defeated by a challenger. I say congratulations, Roe, and good luck in the general election.
