According to the Associated Press and the Bristol Herald Courier, Phil Roe has defeated Congressman David Davis in the Tennessee 1st District Republican Primary. Roe received 25,918 votes (50.4%); Davis received 25,458 votes (49.6%). As you can see, it was a very tight race with Roe narrowly coming out top. This is the first time since 1966 that an incumbent Tennessee congressman has been defeated by a challenger. I say congratulations, Roe, and good luck in the general election.
