Independence Day 2008

I never feel like I mark Independence Day in an appropriate manner. I don't know; I feel like I should do more to celebrate the freedom that we achieve on this date over 200 years ago. Well, I did go to the Kingsport parade with some friends. It was a good parade, and we had some good times despite the downpour near the end. We then went and had a cookout with some great food. I then came back home to celebrate my mom's birthday (yes, fireworks flew at her birth). We then went over to my brother's house for a little bit and then headed to Rogersville for their annual fireworks show (as pictured...I admit, I'm not the greatest fireworks photographer). Overall, it was a great day.

Celebrating Independence Day in Iraq, Bob Krumm offers up a video on his blog where the largest re-enlistment in American history took place in an old Saddam palace. What a great way to mark the occasion!
