Well after 4700 miles and 12 states (Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas), I am finally back from my 2-week journey across America. If you have been reading the posts I made using Jott, you must have seen that my voice was not accurately recorded in some cases. Well, here are the highlights of the trip.
The St. Louis Arch was so cool and much bigger in person.
The hair museum in Independence, MO, is strange but really draws you in.
Truckhenge outside Topeka, KS, is a nicely hidden treasure of half-buried trucks complete with political statements.
We got the full Kansas experience in Topeka with a tornado.
In Junction City, KS, a retired math teacher built his very own castle island in his backyard.
Prairie Dog Town in western Kansas was so weird and was a tourist trap, but it was still fun.
We loved Colorado - it is so beautiful!
Rocky Mountain National Park is absolutely amazing. Plenty of things to see and do (if you like the outdoors). This is the highest up I've ever been at over 12,000 ft. Every trail you took, had a great view waiting for you.
We camped all over this great land.
Arches National Park was a totally different environment!
The cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde are amazing! Something you don't see everyday.
We were out that far so we had to stop at the Four Corners.
The Cadillac Ranch is really cool. There are about 10 Cadillacs half-buried in the ground ready for visitors to add their own graffiti.
We, of course, had to pay homage to Elvis while in Memphis.
Although the trip slammed the bank account, it was such an amazing adventure. We experienced so much and met so many people in such a short time. This will definitely be an experience that I will not forget any time soon.
