Another American has won a Nobel prize. Edmund S. Phelps has won the prize in economics. He received the honor for his work in the study of inflation and unemployment. So far, Americans have won all of the Nobel prizes this year with two more still to be announced. (story here)

More vegetables have been recalled for E. coli fears. Nunes Co. brand lettuce has been recalled. Although there has been no confirmation of contamination, the company has recalled the product to play it safe. There are also fears of E. coli in spinach, baby carrot juice, and some beef.
