President James Netherton has still yet to publicly respond to the faculty vote yesterday that placed their "no confidence" label upon his administration. Some kind of statement was expected yesterday, but nothing has been released yet. There are some around campus saying that he could possibly resign rather than hearing from the trustees at the end of the month. I don't know if I personally expect that or not. One of the main sticking points with faculty is his stubbornness. If does take such action, I wouldn't except this weekend considering it is Homecoming. I would what will happen in the parade tomorrow afternoon. He is usually featured in the leading car, but I wonder how the crowd and alumni will react. I ushered the Homecoming play last night (called Lyric Theatre), and he was having a "discussion" with someone in the lobby. Him and his wife were also the first ones to dart out the door (I wouldn't blame them). KnoxNews has another article today regarding the situation.
