Wouldn't it be nice if all political campaigns came with a 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed promise? Well, a couple of Tennessee Highway Patrol officers think that should be so. Two troopers that donated to the Bredesen campaign and have since been demoted are asking for their contributions back. These officers, however, were demoted because it was revealed that Bredesen accepted contributions from officers in exchange for promotions within the THP. Bredesen's campaign spokesperson said that the officers will get their money back, but does the Governor really have any other choice? The Republicans have been asking for quite a while for all the money to be returned, but those calls have gone unanswered. Now that officers are actually asking for the money back themselves, Bredesen would look pretty bad in the public's eye not to give it back. All of the involved officers should start asking for a refund of their contributions; millionaire Bredesen doesn't deserve their money. I think it is funny how it works. Everyone involved gets demoted except the person mainly responsible for these political kickbacks, the Governor himself. I would have thought his actions were a criminal offense, but I guess no one else thinks so. (more here)
