Bonus Points for Bredesen

Thirteen-thousand acres in the Cumberland Plateau has been saved (hopefully). The state of Tennessee just spent $20 million in bonds to purchase that large amount of land. The Heritage Conservation Trust Fund helped to make this purchase possible. This fund was established by Governor Bredesen last to help preserve natural areas throughout the state. That a bonus point for Bredesen in my book. I considering preserving Tennessee's natural beauty a high priority that the government needs to take an active role in. Nature is the heart and soul of our state; without such beautiful assets, we would just be any other state. This lush landscape makes us special and unique from the other 49 states, and this is the reason that we have such a thriving tourist industry. I just hope that it don't here. (more here)
