American Idol 5 Ends

SOUL PATROL

WINS!

Well, I walk away from the TV screen a little disappointed tonight. Mandisa didn't win American Idol. Oh well. Joking aside, I was really rooting for my diva Katharine McPhee; I've had the McPheever since the beginning. It's not a total loss, though. Taylor is a pretty good performer, and Kat will get a record deal much like other Idol runner-ups (actually Kat has already been offered a recording deal with none other than Kentucky Fried Chicken, story here). Tonight was also a great finale for weeks of watching American Idol. The girls put on a great show together along with the boys. Looks like they will have a wonderful tour this year.

Truthfully, I still can't believe that Chris didn't make it to the finals; many will always remember that moment when he was shockingly eliminated. OK, back to the point. I also greatly enjoyed it when Clay Aiken impersonator Michael Sandecki was brought back to sing a song and then shocked when he was joined on-stage by Clay himself.

Carrie Underwood was, as expected, absolutely wonderful. Meatloaf was just plain scary; Prince was kind of weird too. Well, Season 6 will probably start in January. The Soul Patrol takes it all this time; congratulations Taylor!
