State Representative Debra Maggart of Hendersonville that requires voters to display ID before casting their ballot. I think this only makes sense; how else are we suppose to avoid voter fraud and ensure a fair election? Otherwise, anyone could go district to district voting for their candidates. Of course, the NAACP is going to claim that this restricts the poor, the elderly, and the non-whites. Their going to say that they cannot afford the fee required to get an ID. This bill, however, has a great advantage. It allows for a fee waiver for those unable to pay the fee for a state ID. I applaud Rep. Maggart and her efforts to rid Tennessee of voting error (like what has taken place in Memphis). (story here)
