This is certainly a sad state of the church: "Some megachurches closing on Christmas." Of all days to cancel services, I do believe that Christmas should be last on the list. One of the reasons cited was that it took up too many resources to have church for the few that would show up. One even said that their goal was to bring in the "unchurched" but that the "unchurched" would be less likely to show up on Christmas. This definitely sends the wrong message to unbelievers! How can we say that we properly worship God when we do not even have planned services on one of the most holiest days of the year? The message of all Christians have certainly been dampened by such news; our witness has been diminished. (story here)
