Poor Harriet Miers. All she ever wanted to do was be a judge. Now her nomination has been withdrawn, and the President has to start all over again. My work supervisor and I started talking politics after we heard the breaking news on the radio. We couldn't help but be disgusted at the thought of how awful politics is today. Everything is for the good of the party and donors; no longer is it for the good of the country. How sad that is, and I don't think liberals or conservatives could argue against that. (story here)
Still have faith in the UN? Even though it has been found that their "oil-for-food" program resulted in Saddam Hussein receiving $1.8 billion. I really doubt this is what the founders of the UN envisioned in this organization's future! (story here)
Headline: "Profits gush for Exxon Mobil." Hum, what a surprise! Who would have guessed that $3/gallon gas would result in a 75 percent surge in profits for Exxon?! The company's profits in this quarter falls around 10 billion dollars! Gas is stupid! Imagine how many meals could be bought, how many medicines could be given, how many clothes could be bought for the poor in this world with all that money! We have sacrificed our hard, earned money so that the cash-hungry oil executives could get even richer! Funny how that works! (story here)
