Hijacked Memorial

Present plans for the September 11th memorial have been hijacked according to Take Back the Memorial. Plans include the "international freedom center," which officials just say is a look through the history of democracy and to encourage its future. The victimized families of 9/11, however, strongly disagree with its construction and do not want it at the site. The families say that this center will become a place of politics and a banner for acceptance for the murderers that killed thousands that horrible September day. How dare these people try to build such a center at such sacred grounds! This should not be a place to discuss politics and encourage acceptance of the terrorists! Sure, we need to be more acceptable of other cultures and try to understand one another better, but this goes too far! This memorial is to honor all the firefighters, police, mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, Americans, and others that died in such a horrific manner; this is not a memorial to the terrorists! We need to keep our focus on the victims and their honor, not on the ideology of terrorism. Be sure to sign the petition here to show defiance against this "freedom center."
