Day Three Without a Computer

Well, it has been three days since I have been without my notebook. Much sadness. Anyways, I am in the library right now using the campus computers so I guess that technology fee came into good use. I went yesterday to talk to someone at a computer repair shop, and the guy had no idea what was wrong. Personally, I think it is either the video card or the screen; I really hope it is the video card rather than the screen since that would almost impossible to fix. Back to the story, the guy at the shop started playing around with it a little bit and encountered the same problems I was. Well, magically, it suddenly starts working again; the resolution had changed but I could modify that. He told me to check on my warranty with Dell and see if it could be sent in and inspected. Luckily, my parents bought the 3-year extended warranty so I was saved. I called Dell, and I got this guy with a different accent; I could hardly understand the guy, but I just kept having him repeat things. Well, he had me do some things to the computer, and we actually got it working again. All was fine; I was very happy! We were in the middle of downloading some updates, and the problems came back. Sadness again. We tried some other procedures that didn't work, and he then put me on hold for a very long time. He told me that Dell is going to call me back to set up an appointment to have a technician come to my room and install a new video card. Hopefully, this will work because I don't like asking others to use their computer, and I don't like having to go to the library every time I need a computer. And hopefully my two hours on the phone with Dell won't go down in vain. For some other personal news, I am going to Dollywood on Saturday a bunch of people from CN; should be lots of fun! School has started, and I am very scared but hopefully everything will be ok.
