CNOOC, a Chinese-government run company, has dropped its bid to buy American-run gas producer Unocal Corp. They said it was due to "political resistance." Well, duh! Its has been a political struggle since the beginning. Thank goodness, too! The last thing we needed was another foreign government having control over our oil and gas! Story here.
