CONGRATULATIONS
PRO WRESTLERS
BETH & MELISSA!
The TN Valley Amazing Race came to a conclusion last night in dramatic fashion (more drama than you could imagine)! The teams started out on the CN campus in front of the campus gates. They then made their way through Jefferson City, Morristown, Dandridge, Kodak, and finished the race in Knoxville. Although it rained, we didn't let that ruin the day. I would love to write you a book on the days events, but I will just list some of the highlights.

AN UNEXPECTED ENDING
As you heard on the audio post last night, Courtney had to go to the hospital room last night. At the next to last landmark, she slipped and fell on her back. When Adam first called me about the accident, he told me that she fell, and I just thought that she had scrapped her knees or something and felt light headed. Beth, Melissa, and Brwyan went to check on her to make sure everything was ok. I then get a phone call that they are taking her to the hospital. After some x-rays, the doctors found that she had a fractured vertebrae. This is not life threating, but she has a bumpy road ahead of her. She is in a lot of pain, and I am sure she would greatly appreciate your prayers! Another problem took place as we left the emergency room. We formed a line of cars leaving the hospital. The parking lots are protected by meter gates (which is crazy to begin with that you have to pay to park at the hospital). When we came in, the exit gate was tore up. We couldn't get it to go up to leave so we try to get gate to go up on the entrance. We get the first car through. We then use that car to signal the weight sensor to raise the gate for the other cars. Before the last car (Brian & Brittany's car) goes through the gate, a security guard comes and takes them into custody for vandalism. This was just a major miscommunication. The exit gate was not broken; we were suppose to go get some token to get out, but we didn't know this. Well, the security guard tells them that they will have to pay $3000 for damages and have to spend a night in the jail (you would have to know these people to realize that it is craziness to tell them they are going to jail). After the security guards finished their screaming and threatening phase (which was totally unprofessional) and they were called Nazis by Courtney's dad, they finally calmed down and somewhat friendly. They told Brittany that they would do nothing to her since she didn't actually touch the gate; they told Brian that the felony charge would probably be dropped and would only have to pay for damages. By the way, we witnessed the exit gate working fine for cars coming in after the incident while the guards were claiming that it was damaged. Pray for Brian, too, that his situation would be resolved.
Overall, the Amazing Race was great! We all had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs and certainly will not be an experience that we will soon forget (especially the end). Pictures coming soon!
