The Amazing Race is coming back to TV after a brief hiatus, and I must say that I am excited! I don't know about you all, but last season was a dissappointment to me. It was filled with models and complainers. About the only hope last season was Gus & Hera and Jon & Kris, and we all know that those dreams were crushed. This season holds some promise. There seems to be some great teams. The best thing is that THERE ARE NO MODELS! I am so excited about this. It is finally time that the producers of TAR get the idea that we don't like seeing non-reality people competing in reality television, especially the Amazing Race. We want to see ordinary people racing around the world, not models that complain because Africa "won't stop reproducing." Some teams that look like they will be fun are Ron & Kelly (a former Iraq POW and a beauty queen), Ryan & Chuck (best friends that are also devoted Christians), and the infamous Rob & Amber from Survivor. I have also spotted some teams that look like they could cause some problems. These teams include Megan & Heidi (roommates from California) and Ray & Deana (a couple dating on and off and I think he looks just like Jonathan from season 6). This should be fun! I've also got some good news for devoted Amazing Race fans. Looks like the first season of the race might be finally coming to DVD, according to tvshowsondvd.com. Looks like it might be made available by June. Can't wait! Be sure to stay tuned to Mr Rocky Top for more of the Amazing Race (including our own to take place in April!).
