RACE IN CHICAGO

Amazing Race ended its sixth season in dramatic fashion. The racers started out in Shanghai, Chinia, with Hayden & Aaron leading the pack while Adam & Rebecca leave the pit stop in last place. The racers have to travel to the beautiful Chinese countryside to find their next clues. Hayden & Aaron run into a lot of problems along the way. Every taxi driver they got did not know where they were going. The finally find one driver that knows his way, and they travel to a nearby mountain range but are still very far behind. While going through this misadventure, Hayden is of course extremely angry and is ready to just give up. They finally make it to the top of the mountain where the others teams are trying to unlock a lock among 3000 other locks with a key given to them in their clue. This proves a very difficult task for all the racers. Kris & Jon finish first and then Freddy & Kendra. Rebecca and Hayden have to go through the thousands of locks many times and end up having blistered and bloody hands. Hayden decides to give up and take a four hour penalty for not completing the roadblock. As soon as Hayden said that, Rebecca found her lock and got the clue. The two teams raced to the pit stop. Hayden & Aaron get there before Adam & Rebecca, but they were eliminated since they did not complete the roadblock. In a surprise move after much arguing throughout the day, Aaron gets on his knee and asks Hayden to marry him. In this much tearful scene, Hayden accepted. After the teams finished their 12 hour rest period, they were off to Hawaii. The teams got there at relatively the same time with little distance between them. The racers had to search through thousands of traditional tourist clothing, row a boat two miles, and jump out of an airplane into the ocean. This part of this race ended up with Kris & Jon in the lead, Freddy & Kendra in second, and with Adam & Rebecca lagging behind. The fatal mistake occured at the American Airlines ticket counter in Hawaii. Kris & Jon arrived first and asked the man at the counter for the fastest flight to the final destination, Chicago. The man assured them that the American flight was the fastest in the entire airport so they got the tickets for that flight. When Freddy & Kendra arrive, they go to United and find a flight that arrived in Chicago 30 minutes ahead of Kris & Jon's. Adam & Rebecca are almost out of the picture by this time because they are so far behind. Even though F&K's flight was a little late and K&J's flight was a little early, nothing seemed to help my fav team Kris & Jon. They were always behind Freddy & Kendra by a few minutes but too far behind. Freddy & Kendra did get lost in their cab because the driver did not know where the park was that the finish line was at. Kris & Jon's driver, on the other hand, knew exactly where to go. This did not stop F&K, though. They eventually found the park but with Kris & Jon running right behind them. Kris & Jon, however, got stuck when they had to stop to allow a train to pass. This allowed Freddy & Kendra with more than enough time to cross the finish line in first place and with the million dollar prize. Kris & Jon came in second, and Adam & Rebecca finished in third. All the eliminated racers were on hand to great the final three, and the reunion was bittersweet. I truly believe Kris & Jon deserve the prize, but I still congratulate Freddy & Kendra for their tremendous win.
